Authorities on Wednesday seized more than 500 kilos of “hot meat” in Divisoria.
In a report from the Manila Veterinary Inspection Board, about 532 kilos of beef shanks were discovered in a surprise inspection along Elcano Street.
The beef was estimated to be worth P80,000.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno went to Divisoria after the successful operation.
“Basta hindi ininspeksyon ng accredited slaughterhouse, hindi ito safe,” he said as he warned the public to be vigilant when buying meat.
“Pagkain ito. We cannot just send these to our markets. Kinakain ito ng tao, kaligtasan ang nakataya dito," Moreno added.
The operation was conducted following a report from social media regarding the illegal meats being sold in Divisoria.
