As of Sunday, about 500,000 food boxes have been distributed to Districts 1 to 4 by members of the Department of Public Services, Department of Engineering and Public Works, and Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau.

Domagoso said the food security program is the local government's response to alleviate the public's economic woes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Ang naging polisiya natin kung saan natin diniretso yung kakayanan ng gobyerno ay pagbibigay ng importansya sa pagkain ng bawat pamilyang Manileño. Tao muna bago kalsada. Ayaw ko pong may magutom sa Maynila, kakain tayo," Domagoso said.

Distribution of food boxes are currently underway in the city's fifth district as of this writing.
