MASK IS A MUST

Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has signed an ordinance requiring the mandatory use of face masks in all public places in the nation’s capital.

This is in line with the Mayor’s CODE COVID-19 (Contain and Delay) action plan in response to the global pandemic.

Under Ordinance No. 8627, Domagoso said all persons within the territorial jurisdiction of the City of Manila are required to wear face masks.

“The face mask must sufficiently cover one’s nose and mouth and must be worn at all times,” the Mayor said, quoting the ordinance.

These masks include “ear loop masks, indigenous, reusable, do-it-yourself masks, handkerchiefs or such other protective equipment that can effectively lessen the transmission of COVID-19.”

Residents who fail to comply with the ordinance may be fined P1,000 for the first offense, P2,000 for the second offense, and P5,000 or one month imprisonment or both for the third and subsequent offense.
