Mayor Isko Moreno delivered a keynote speech at the Pilipinas Conference

Manila City Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso on Thursday, December 5, delivered a keynote speech at the Pilipinas Conference: A Balanced Approach to Environment Stewardship held at Intramuros Ballroom, Manila House BGC.

He expressed frustration over the capital's geographical challenge, being surrounded by polluted creeks and rivers and amassing trash from neighboring cities washed ashore by the Manila Bay.

Domagoso believes that collective action is the key in migitating the effects of pollution. He also praised the companies dedicated in scientific research and those with biodegradable alternatives and "buyback" programs.

He also highlighted the city's on-going project, "Kolek, Kilo, Kita!" which aims to encourage the residents to collect their garbage and segregate them in exchange of products from its partners: Unilever, Cemex and Republic Cement.
